La prima (Notatio de viris illustribus ), che è quella di maggior successo, è il tentativo di catalogare tutti gli scritti liturgici e si è diffusa in Germania meridionale, dove è testimoniata da dodici mss., quasi tutti scritti tra X e XII sec. Undici mss. sono catalogati nell''edizione Rauner; il dodicesimo, individuato da W. Berschin, è il ms. Stuttgart, WLB Hist. 80 .26.Bibliografia filologica: Notatio de illustribus viris , ed. E.
